  • The aromatics are amazing on this wine, from 750ml. So much complexity, layers of smooth, sweet fruit; soft and graceful. Mahogony - aged and sweet. This is a special wine and superior to the one had in Volnay in 2019.

  • Opened at the L'Elegance de Volnay event in the midst of a nasty heatwave, and shared with Guillaume d'Angerville, the son of Jacques d'Angerville, who made this wine. Guillaume told us that his was one of Jacques' first vintages as his grandfather died that year. Despite being a bit cranky at the first taste, it did not disappoint. The solid and rich nose has grace and elegance. "Wispy" and firm acidity balances the beautiful black fruit nicely. Fantastic purity throughout. Interestingly the cork had no markings on it.
