  • Red fruit nose still present - strawberry, red cherry. Good acidity remains and earth notes but surprisingly dark color still for a 28yr old wine. Decent acidity balances but fruit is drying out. Lovely to drink even without food as the alcohol is not overwhelming @ 12.5%. Good for what it is. Med finish and med acidity. What’s good is that this can be drunk alone without food - enjoyable

  • M+M's Housewarming Party (M+M. Robin Road): Mature and enjoyable - this was exactly what you want an aged Gevrey to be. The nose was classic Gevrey indeed - savoury meat, earth, dried red fruit, little touches of herb and spice. Attractive. The ripe, sunny red fruit on palate was starting to fade around a structured core of fresh acidity and fine tannins, but still gave plenty of joy. Past the midpalate, a citrusy lift emerged amidst a nice drift of spice and herb towards a bright finish. Not perfect, but lovely stuff.

  • Denne hadde holdt seg riktig bra og selv om det ikk var en supervin var den ihvertfall minst en klasse bedre enn alt fra Ampeau som er å få kjøpt på polet fra denne tidsperioden.

  • Very dark red for a wine from this AOC and age. Dark fruit and earth nose, some richness. Dark cherry flavours and a nice long finish.

There is nothing to complain about here except the lack of typicity. When someonne asked me which wine I thought was more expensive this or the Bichot Vosnee Romanee I thought the level of concentration in this wine may be the reason this was a more expensive/better wine. I was wrong. I certainly preffered the other wine.

(Trapet Père et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin) The colour has a core of medium-plus ruby red, fading to a watery edge. The nose is very Gevrey with lots of turned earth and eventually a young showing mix of primary red and black cherry. The palate has depth, reasonable fat and pretty much perfect acidity. The tannins are there, but you need to search for them. Good length - helped along by the acidity. Nice wine and still only a youth.

(Trapet Père et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin) Colour is medium-plus ruby at the core, fading quickly to the edge. The nose is very earthy and farmyard smelling with background aromas of still quite primary cherry. The palate has good density with fine acidity. Tannin is well hidden. Finishes nicely long. A very good wine and still young.
