Beautiful color that presents as a much older chardonnay and the palate follows suit. A dank caramel vanilla nose will make you drool if the color didn't already. The viscosity gives it a velvety smooth mouthfeel so the buttery caramel will coat your palate while the long finish will reveal a hint of pineapple.
An all around wonderful chardonnay whose only weakness might be the presence of alcohol on the palate. Whether you like this or not will heavily depend on your personal preference. I loved this chardonnay for the same reasons that others thought it over the hill.

This heavy wine has collapsed - or this bottle has varied - in dramatic fashion in the two years since I tasted this last (6/18 - 94 points). More yellow in color ("golden" to the poetically inclined) and full in body, the wine offers notes of lemon curd, butterscotch, and almond. The flavors are similarly thick, with notes of orange marmalade, vanilla bean, and maple caramel, with a viscous and thick finish. Whatever salinity and freshness this had two years ago... is long gone. 14.1% alcohol. Drink yesterday.

Marked bottle variation. Nothing like preceding day's bottle in appearance or flavor profile.

Seems oxidized. Not one of Hartford's stellar chardonnays for certain.
