  • I was looking for red wines that would pair well with turkey dinner for Canadian Thanksgiving. A great website* recommended Gigondas wines - particularly 2015/16 vintages. I happened to have this one as well as the 2007 Perrin & Fils Gigondas La Gille. Both were perfect pairings. The Domaine Brusset was ruby coloured with fast legs. There was just a hint of sediment. The nose was blackberry, lead pencil and black pepper. It had the same taste with some flint and mineral notes. The body was medium/full with silky texture. It had a long finish and was still very tannic. Given a choice, I preferred the Perrin & Fils as a smoother wine without the high acidity (though it was also decanted much longer). In the end, everyone enjoyed the wines and the turkey so that was a win in these CoVid times.

  • The nose was dark and rich with a dusting of bakers spice giving way to blackberry, plum sauce, citrus, and Violette candies with hints of smoke and charred meat in the background. On the palate, I found silky textures, as a wave of dark ripe fruit swept across the senses, leaving notes of minerals, savory herbs and an unmistakeable hint of tropical citrus. The finish was medium long, with hints of young tannin clinging to the palate, as notes of black fruit and minerals faded.

Time in the cellar may reveal more here with a few years of maturity. Until then, it's a highly enjoyable wine after an hour or more in the decanter.

    Bit idiosyncratic for the appellation.

  • Dark red. Bright nose of earthy dark cherry and smoke. Nice dark fruit flavours and a mid weight dry finish.

Nice wine, could improve for 2 to 3 years.

  • Too expensive I think. But still has the nice Rhone style. Might improve during the evening. Do not buy again
