Deep ruby color with excellent spice aromas. First glass 15 min after open. Balanced and lovely with a long finish. Clearly Grand Cru quality but needed to open up in the glass - Zalto Burgundy. Long finish and continued to improve in the glass until it was gone much too soon. Quite the treat with our salmon dish.

This is a sneaky wine. It's not 'too' anything. Not a blockbuster, not over concentrated not too strong an impression, and yet somehow it is just beguiling. Elegant, with pronounced half-sour cherry flavors and a hint of underbrush but shows the magic of burgundy. You just keep thinking about this wine, both while you are drinking it and a day or two afterward.

Online Blind Tasting #1 (Online): *** brief notes from online blind tasting *** Note is based on a tasting sip in the morning on day one, 5cl on the evening and 0,1l filled in a bottle and sealed with argon gas on the evening of day two. Glass: Riedel Vinum Syrah This wine was way better on day one. At the tasting it was too chilled and I did not give it enough time to fully open up. At the last sip it showed a glimpse of day one. Clear, medium garnet-tawny color. Clean, medium intense, developing nose. Aromas of fine oak, fine red fruit, some herbs, iron and tobacco. Airy and complex. On day two a bit muted/muffled. Dry, high, quite racy and well integrated acidity. Medium, fine tannin, not as rough as I expected. 13,5% abv. On the palate fine red fruit, herbs, some subtle toasting notes. Beautiful texture, tension and depth. On day one for sure a very good PC or a mediocre GC. On day two more on a mediocre PC level. On both days the finish was very long and fine. Day one: 93, Day two: 90 = 91

First bottle of 6, and now I wish I had bought 60. Everything I adore about burgundy. Ethereal on the nose, weightless yet completely full and balanced in the mouth. Firmly in the earth and mushroom spectrum with high-toned sweet and sour red fruits. Still feels structured enough to go 7-8 years for well stored bottles

This drank incredibly well straight from bottle. A fine rendition from a great vintage.
