PnP, with citrus, honey, and petrol notes on the nose. Candied peach, apple, honey and lime notes coalesce on the palate flanked by brisk acidity and hints of minerality. On the sweeter side of Spatlese, but there's still great balance and good length overall. Could use a tad more complexity.

Escape from Lockdown (67 Pall Mall): Attractive floral nose, with hints of kerosene, but somewhat underpowered on the palate - pleasant enough, but not a great deal of impact, let alone excitement.

A very sweet spatlese but has appropriate acidity to confront the RS. A light spritzig when it went into the glass but that dissipated quickly. Try it with something spicy. Many improving years ahead for this one. When Hugh Johnson wrote about perfect wines for an English garden (in A Life Uncorked, I believe), this is exactly what he had in mind.

The nose showed crushed stone minerality with hints of sweet undergrowth up front, and slowly evolving into over-ripe peach. On the palate, I found silky yet energizing textures, a mix of both dense ripe fruit and brisk acidity, and notes of peach and lime that satiated the senses. The finish was long, settling on the palate and slowly cleansed by resonating minerals and lively acids.

Sunflower colour; slate, streamlined; quite sweet, with a citrus cut providing drive; lots on a finish which flourishes. Will age well.
