For zinfandel, this is restrained and semi-elegant. There's a fair amount of strawberry, red currant and earth. This is drinking well right now and I hope it improves in complexity with a few more years age.

A slightly brickish tinged ruby, medium light concentration of appearance. Medium intensity nose of dark fruit, clean mushroom, smoked meat, very light notes of aromatic wood. Palate is well rounded and medium+ concentration, dark somewhat dried fruit and raisin under current with notes of strawberry, hard herbs, tobacco. Acid is perfect, working well with sharp but nicely matured tannin producing a nice medium long dried fruit and white peppery finish. This is a really good and enjoyable wine, first Zinfandel I have had in a very long time and first one I have reviewed here. Will look for more, very solid value here and peak window should be open for a few more years.

absolutely outstanding. This is not some overly alcoholic zinfandel. clocking in at 14.5% there is no noticeable heat on this and the brambly fruit is just totally in your face, even after 6 years. This is an insanely good wine and crazy good QPR. Will stock up on these!

Consumed over three nights and it held up well. Actually may have preferred it most on the third night where some of oak had dissipated.
Brambly red and black fruit, some earth and spices. Nice concentration but not over-the-top; good restraint. Always enjoy this take on Zin.
