  • In a great spot right now with a lot of air. Very concentrated and full body. However, too “modern” for my liking as the terroir seems hidden behind the oak flavour. Becomes better with right temperature after an hour in the fridge. Style reminds me of La Spinetta. Personally, I will not buy again due to the style and price range. I prefer Prod. del Barbaresco style more - including better QPR.

  • Quite some browning in the color at this stage.

Overall this is not really my style of Barbaresco. I don't know if the storage has anything to do with it, since I bought this recently from a private individual - but I assume it's simply the style.

Initial pour showed a lot of tight and dark fruits with heavy tannins, tar, leather and smoke.
It then started to open up and more of the dark fruits came to light, but it was very Port-like in its fruit and expression with dried fig, raisin, dark plum and dried leaves.
The tannins softened a lot with air and the wine was overall open for business with a lovely acidity as well, but for my personal preference I'm missing that nice touch of fresh red fruits, and I just don't think this style of Barbaresco will ever have that - not even young.

  • Gathering at Brian's (Brian's Home): Mild balsamic aromas accompanied by roses, more flowers, high toned candied cherries and herbs. Palate has more ripe cherries , tart, flowers and a whole heap of tannins. Obviously really early and too young but pretty given its youth. Would like to try this when it's mature.
