During a Barolo/Piedmont tasting lunch, not blind. Expressive nose of cooked apples, lemon, flowers, brown sugar, complex. Popular at the table, for me a touch too oxidative, I am picky here.

Deep golden color. Notes of spices, musky notes too, slightly brownish orchard fruit, spices, cloves, caramel, some raisins. Medium bodied, with excellent persistence, pretty high acidity and some great overall balance of sweetness and acidity. Beautiful.

Initially, it is quite syrupy with typical notes of orange peel, dried apricot and baked fruits. With further aeration, notes of marmalade, honey, almond, chrysanthemum keep unfolding. This wine could have lasted and evolved for the whole day.
The evolution and complexity of flavours is mind-blowing.
