  Single piece cork. No seepage
  
  Overpowering aroma of oak, chocolate (duh). Strawberry. Smoke.
  Palate finish has an impression of sweetness, it was significant and distracting from an otherwise well made wine. Aromas follow through on the palate. Tannins are very polished and smooth. Long finish, with again the distracting impression of sweetness.
  
  Would not purchase more based on this tasting.
  Drink or hold to 2024
  14% abv

  Enjoyable South African wine that has had plenty of time to mellow. Good spice notes that really bring out the character. Bought from the winery and if you ever get a chance to visit it's worth the trip. Great memories.

  Probablement la meilleure bouteille de ce vin que j'ai bu.
  Un vieillissement de près de 9 ans lui a fait perdre son boisé excessif en jeunesse et a atténué le côté confituré qui me plaît plus ou moins.
  Ça reste très mûr avec un goût de chocolat à la cerise sur une matière abondante.
  A bien fonctionné avec les côtes levées BBQ. Pourrait encore vieillir si on aime un peu plus de finesse.

  A bit acidic at first, right after opening the bottle. After an hour in the air, this wine starts to shine. And my, does it shine! It continues to grow in the glass, and is simply wonderful after three hours. Complex, smooth, full, well rounded and absolutely delicious.
