  • After trying the first bottle of the 2012 vintage, I let the remaining ones age a few years. The bottle had built up some sediment. Of course there is chocolate in the nose and mouth but put this aside and red fruits, prune, earthy tones will come out. I believe there was also a floral note of lavender or violet. In the mouth the oaky tannins are smooths and balanced yielding to a long finish.

  • The wine looks inky colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like raspberry, prune, forest floor, medium toast, violet, Herbes de Provence and meaty. It tastes like red currant, medium toast, oak, acacia, basil, Herbes de Provence and meaty. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has high acidity.
Don't really get the chocolate on this one but there's a hint of cocoa.

Not sure I get the drinking window suggested on here. I think its drinking superbly and has shown a number of new flavours. Needs some time to breath though.

  • Still a very good wine, dark berries, powerful palate, long taste. But has to be drunk now.

  • Still a good quality, because of the years maybe a little bit less difference in flavors but still pretty fruity

  • A winner right out of the bottle. Rich and inviting on the nose, red fruit, sweet red fruit, almost a perfume touch to it, complex and intriguing. The palate is darker red fruit, missing the touch of sweetness found on the nose. Grippy but well balanced tannins. Again good complexity, a pleasure to figure out all the elements, What I don’t find is chocolate, but does not disturb me in the slightest, so many other good things going on. Had a few bottles before, most recently back in March 2016. Find the wine significantly improved, improved complexity, simply more going on. Conclude that the listed drinking window is off, wine is better than ever and will likely go on for some time.
