Signs of leakage on the capsule and label! Upon opening there was a slightly foul smell, but with a vigourous decant a rather nice bouquet emerged - red berries and spice. Very tight and acidic at first, but within an hour opening up with gorgeous red fruits and spice. This is the best 2004 I've tasted. Very good.

This wine at the start was appealing. Dark ripe while not being overly ripe. It follows on the palette with dark berry, easy drinkability. However, after sitting in the bottle about one hour the wine completely fell apart and was on the verge of being undrinkable.

Avant Partir Burgundy Tasting (Pearson's - Atlanta, GA): Pronounced and slightly pungent PN nose. Strong and well integrated fruit flavors of dark cherry and black berries. Has a polished start, lightly textured tannins, oak spice increasing on the tongue and a nice lift on the long finish.
