Opened without a lot of time between open and pour. Flat red color with some slight hint of orange tint. Nose is pure beautiful Burgundy barnyard with some licorice and flowers as well. Very complex nose. Palate is very powerful, bright red fruit, cola flavors, good acidity, but man the Gevrey power is so strong. There is no wallflower to this wine. Finish is long, and again, the palate is very complex.

Fully mature at present. The delicious cherry/strawberry fruit is matched with a variety of intriguing and delicious tertiary aromas. The telltale earth and spice of Gevrey-Chambertin is in place as well. The finish remains long enough and well balanced.

This wine is a deeper red and less translucent than many Burgundies. It has a fruit forward aroma with the typical Cote D'Or earth notes. The flavor profile is a delicious mixture of strawberries and cherries. Light and dark berries are represented equally. The smooth mouthfeel lingers quite a while until a delicate finish ascends. The finish is a balance of tannic and mineral structure components. The balanced fruit flavors and balanced finish are not equals. The full mouth of fruit dominates the acid tastes, but that is the style. It is more lop-sided than average - as is the shape of the bottle.

Dark berry and cherry with grilled game and herbs. Very lush fruit that coats the mouth and clings to the teeth. Great acid structure and good length.
