Pop and pour into a decanter. Youthful, inky purple in the glass. On the nose, a bit of brambly funk that cleared up quickly to reveal dark fruit and bacon. On the palate, blueberries, blackberries, cooked meat, and tar, with emphasis on the fruit - just as young on the palate as the color implied. I think there is serious upside here, but it's going to take several years to get there.

Absolutely delicious! The nose initially leaps from the glass featuring notes of charcuterie, bacon, graphite, and a blend of red and blue fruits. While it was good from the onset, 3-4 hours of decanting yielded an even more complex wine with greater depth and weight. Still a bit primary on the palate, but superbly crafted with text-book Syrah flavor profile. Big, rich, and expansive, with blackberry, blueberry, and bright cherry notes mingled with incense, wild game, and a note of graphite (almost coal) that builds with time. Good now but with notable upside - 95+

Nicely Balanced. Red pepper blackberry to start tobacco and earthyness to finish. Nice black pepper nose.
