Allowed to breathe in glass 1 hour. Clear medium-dark ruby-garnet red. Bouquet of red and black cherries and their liqueurs; leather, roses, crushed gravel, hints of pipe tobacco, porcinis, truffles. Pleasantly tart on the palate, seamless, balanced, medium-full body, nice tannic grip. Modern style with generous ripe fruit. Outstanding.

Classic Old World, Old School Barolo Great with Food Subtle and Nuanced Worried that it was tired at first but opened nicely after a couple of hours decanting

Allowed to breathe in glass 60 minutes before tasting. Clear medium ruby-garnet red. Musty at first, freshening after awhile to reveal pleasant notes of dried roses, tar, dried cherries, red clay, hints of old leather, pine, balsam. Similar on the palate, full body, balanced, nice acidity and chalky tannins. Improved with extended aeration and held up fine under vacuum stopper in refrigerator for four days.

Allowed to breathe in glass 30 minutes before tasting. Faintly hazy medium ruby-brick red. Initial bouquet of stewed red fruit and generic old red wine. After an hour this improved and freshened considerably to reveal an evolved bouquet of red currant liqueur, red cherries, leather, dried rose petals, red clay, with hints of tobacco and porcini mushrooms. Similar on the palate, medium body with pleasant acidity and smooth tannins. Help up well under vacuum stopper, with hints of caramel and cashews on the third day.

Initial flat, after 5 hrs slow ox-ed wine became more pronounced but not OK. Will wait till tommorrow and see how it developed over 24 hrs.
