FWS Bordeaux and Southwest tasting 2020; 7/21/2020-7/22/2020: This drank very well. A good amount of funk that needed to blow off. I'd actually suggest decanting this. Tannin has settled and there is still a good amount of fruit. A lot of secondary aromas also, gravel and a slight barnyard aroma which I think really adds depth. A random auction purchase that ended up being a winner

- Ruby color - My bottle was Ch Belair saint Emilion grandcru .It was delicious ,surprising for for its age.Although the cork broke at the end, there was very little sediment.

From Art's Cellar. A "gamble" wine that turned out well for me. Wine was clear, bowl was garnet to an amber rim. One-hour (or so) decant through a screened funnel (cork disintegrated). Initially, nose was barnyard, cedar and forest floor. The barnyard blew off for the most part after airing in the decanter and was supplanted by strong cedar elements. In the mouth, good acid, still in balance, tart cherries with tarragon. Medium-long finish. Over time, the wine did grow a bit sharper and the tarragon evolved into tobacco notes. As we drank the wine with food, this evolution did not have a negative impact on our enjoyment of it. Pleasantly surprised for a middle-tier cru bourgeois of this age. Bottle cost $7.95 in 1987.

A little musty but when it aired out it was pretty good. I think I will decant the next one and have it with some lighter fare.
