dark ruby colored with haze. nose with crushed berries, dusty earth, black pepper, and herbs. palate is light with medium plus acidity. fresh. more dark berry and purple plum flavors. fine grained grippy tannins. medium length finish. good with food, can handle some citrus, enough fruit to age a bit more.

Decanted. Now 2h after decant. Aromas of juicy blackberries, earth, and flowers. Palate w bright blackberries, a bit of pomegranate, earth, a bit of tar, hint of flowers and herbs. Med+ tannins on midpalate. Excellent acids on medium+ body. Nice finish of earth, medicinal bark and blackberries. Really like the dark, earthy bass notes that nicely balance out the bright fruit. This is good. Will be interesting to see what happens w some more age.

Largely consistent with prior note. With a little more time in the bottle the wine has shed a bit of its ebullience. It’s still plenty bright, but a slightly spicier/darker aspect is showing more now. Interestingly the wine is super light and bright and red fruited, but there’s some tannin on the finish. You get the impression that these grape skins were full of flavor and intensity. Really like this and I’ll be a buyer next vintage too.

Very glou glou. Blackberries and violets on the nose. A little more heft then the ‘16 but well balanced and ebulliently fruity without being hot. Delicious.
