  • Notes from day 2. Air helped a lot here, as this is still very young. Good on day 1, great on day 2.
Nose of tobacco leaves, cherries, oak. Medium+ acidity, dense palate with boysenberries and tart cherries, but also spice, anise, forest floor. Long ending, with grippy tannins and lingering cedar notes. This is such a great wine - once it opened up it loved up to the hype and was thoroughly enjoyable, hedonistic almost in an Old World kind of way. Enjoy with a Londra decant today, but even better wait 4-5 years.

  • Very closed at tannic at first - wedged a hour of decanting to open up. This is a beast. Nose had some dark berries. Palate showed more blackberries, with anise and licorice on the grippy ending. Pleasant, but I will revisit my other bottle in 2-3 years. Great with wild boar green curry and steak!
