Served at cellar temperature. On the nose, a delicious bouquet of black fruit, pepper, and herbs. Entry is still a bit tight with hints of VA in the early glasses, but it settled with time in. Mid-palate is nicely integrated, and the finish is long and smooth; subdued tannins. Incredibly enjoyable wine, and very approachable. I’m glad I have another bottle to open in a few years because I think this one will be singing at its 10 birthday.
Quality wine from a quality producer. I have yet to be disappointed by any of Torbreck’s bottlings.

Full on, with notes of blackcurrant, dark cherry and dried spice, 5 Chinese spice and black pepper. Tannins are grippy. Finish, simple. Blend of 55% Grenache, 28% Shiraz and 17% Mataro. 20 months in seasoned french oak. Drink over the next 5 years.

Earthy nose, rich palate blackcurrant, plum, fig, some spice (nutmeg) a touch jammy. Serviceable. 87-89
