  • This dry pronounced white wine has nice integrated balance woth oak, bright citrus aromas. We enjoyed this wine with smoked salmon salad with tomatoes and egg. Very nice combination with best friends Riikka and Heikki.

  • The reserve is much fuller & creamy on the nose. I would imagine more lee’s time. Buttered popcorn, green apple, pineapple, lime, lemon, underripe green melon, saline, little white spice, waxy notes, honey notes, medium intensity minerals and chalk. Yellow flowers/lilies and spring flowers with a hint of greens.

The body is medium full. It starts with ripe, bright fruits and evolves into pronounced white spice, heavy, palate penetrating volcanic minerals. Buttered popcorn, green apple, pineapple, lime, lemon, underripe green melon, saline, little white spice, waxy notes, cream, honey notes, medium intensity minerals and chalk. Yellow flowers/lilies and spring flowers wit a hint of greens. The acidity is quite high and pushes the limit. The finish is pleasant but evolves quickly into spice & minerals on the long set. You really need to enjoy a mineral driven wine here.

    Tasted at DeMorgenzon.

  • Too much oak, 35%new, closed, alcohol present, vanilla is dominating but good potential in 5 years. 90-91

  • Atkin Chardonnay Comparative tasting (Lismore): (Tasted Blind): Attractive notes of stone fruit, greengage, fresh pineapple and ripe yellow apple, with a pleasant lift and light fleeting toasty notes. The palate entry is intense with more baked apple components, quite creamy (confectioners custard on apple ad a squeeze of lemon juice) and rounded but feels slightly forced and almost obvious, lacking some complexity. Quite open-knit I thought it was local and certainly New World lacking some concentration but still enjoyable. Rich yet throughout a juicy stimulating acid to a long finish
