Surprised this wine is getting dogged on CT so much here. 87.7 and someone said that this was Chablis-like… Clove and ginger, a sharp brown edge. Orange zest and I’d say that’s excellent. More Puligny-than-not.

Picked out by the somm as having the style to pair with my Cafe de Paris butter; it was certainly a broad, old-school Chardonnay, with plenty of oak married to lemony fruit, but lacked concentration and suffered from a weak finish. Disappointing given the price; the Planeta Chardonnay I had last week was far more impressive in a similar style, and about 1/3 as expensive.

Charleston Food & Wine Festival IV (for us... XV for the rest I think); 3/5/2020-3/8/2020 (Charleston, SC (various locations)): I'm not a Chard drinker and this is the style that I struggle the most with. Feels like the grapes were likely very ripe when picked and then tons of oak and it just creates a bit more salivation almost to counterbalance and just not that enjoyable. It was however enjoyed by some of the folks at the tasting so it is back to wine being very personal.
