Community Tasting Notes (4)

  • From Coravin. And here is the dreaded cork taint just beginning to rear it's ugly head. Other than that the earlier note from this bottle applies - bit of oak caramel, bit of cherry on the nose but I'm finding that tannic burr on the mid palate more engaging and, despite coming from the cellar, it's got that lick of alcohol warmth on the back palate (odd really as it's measured at a meagre 13%)

  • From Coravin. The oak is more prominent here lending sweetness to the cherry fruit. Again plenty of acidity and a distinct lack of tannin - a passing grittiness. The alcohol is both less hot and less dominant compared to teh 2014.

  • From Coravin. Took a while to open and show ripe red cherry, berry, cream, vanilla and slightly peppery spice with a very slight herbaceous underpin. In the mouth similar flavours though it's surprisingly juicy, perhaps even a little sharp, there is only the faintest tannic burr and it finishes with plenty of alcohol warmth. Hmm

  • From Coravin. Confected, jubey cherry, very slight herbaceous notes on the nose. In the mouth it's juicy with jubey cherry, very slight mid-palate burr. A little spice and some non-intrusive alcoholic warmth on the finish. Meh.
