drank this wine with christmas dinner at grandma and grandpa pomponio's home. donna, giulio, frankie, ellen and pat were there. selected this wine since the count's name is similar to my sister in-law's name. she was not impressed. this bottle had escaped inventory. re-discovered now that i am binning everything up. according to spectator the wine is past its prime. although it did not deliver as much fruit and structure as i recall enjoying when drinking earlier vintages at younger stages, the wine was still intact. pleasant berry fruit flavors. tannins mostly resolved. in the early days of wine discovery, i recall matthew extolling the virtues of this wine. at that time, it was not within my price range. if only we could start over again.
