  Over the hill, but still with some fruit and pleasant bordeaux characteristics

  Decanted 1 hour, with Beef Bourguignon. Well along its maturity plateau. Very light fruit but still moderate intensity with tertiary flavours aplenty. Definite floral aspect in the moderate finish. Still a delicious wine at 23 years old.

  Double-decanted for ~2 hrs. 2 consistent bottles. Served w beef bourguignon. Enjoyed this even more than last time - more fruit left than my prior notes would suggest. Still, peaked or past peak - drink up.

  Fading at this point. Not much fruit, but plenty of tertiary characteristics that impress with a strong meats (ie, our table of 7 loved it w/ Beef Wellington). Fine sediment - needs decanting. Drink up!

  Pleasant. Charming. Gentle tobacco and sage. Nice acidity, fruit is faded, dry core.
