My favorite appellation, and given their neighbors they’re in good company at an effective price. But after about 45 minutes it still remains a bit sweeter than expected. Super balanced with a good body though. Strawberry on the nose with some allspice later on. Super jammy. I wonder if it’s just the 2015 vintage because I had a similar experience with the Fae Niente cab. May compare to the 2016 paradigm to see how it stacks up.
Edit: after another 45 minutes, the sweetness tapers off and opens into some nice minerality and notes of pepper and spice. A good proper decant is necessary for this wine for sure. This definitely gets better after 2+ hours.

Four hour slow ox. Deep dark hazy magenta color. Stewed raspberry, fig, maple syrup on pancakes, and strawberry drizzle on the nose. Smooth, dry palate, with tongue coating acidity. Firm, medium intensity tannins on the longish finish.
This is not as fruit forward as it sounds. There was an overall aged quality (in a not so good way) that diminished this a bit. Likely going through a transition.

90 min decant. Deep dark ruby magenta color. Crushed walnut, blackberry, cocoa, sour cream old fashioned donut, black cherry liqueur, and Andes mints on the nose. Very dry, smooth palate, with chalky, mouth coating acidity. Firm, low intensity tannins on the medium finish.
This has nice complexity, but a weak back end and relatively short finish. It seemed to lack vivaciousness overall.

Pop and pour. Showing beautifully with great balance of acid, fine tannins, and ripe blackcurrant.
