  spectacular ! big ripe fruit that just kept becoming more refined, complex and massive. Had leather, tar, fig and finished with notes of ripe balanced stone fruit. One of the best wines from a 99 tasting of Insignia and Dunn, the Paradigm was near perfect.

  This wine impresses me more and more every time I have it! Extraordinary nose, deep fruit and tannins that hits the palate like velvet and suede! A tad short finish, but that doesn't take away from how awesome this wine is! The age doesn't hurt this magnum at all!

  Totally in awe of Paradigm's evolution after 16 years on vintage; purchased a few at the winery in 2002 or 2003 and held onto this last bottle until yesterday. Brought this and a 2009 Del Dotto David to a dinner party, and the Paradigm blew the other away, with everyone at the table raving about it. Dark, nearly opaque purple/black, not a hint of bricking, and offering up richness of fruit, vanilla and a bit of cedar to the nose. First thing on the palate was lively, fresh and rich flavors of blackberry and black cherry, then some fully-integrated and silky-smooth tannins, which carried over to the super-long finish, along with hints of vanilla, caramel and a very light touch of cigar box. Totally in balance, and totally memorable. Lots of life left in this as well. Wow.

  One of the best noses I've had in a while!! Awesome tannins, with strong flavors of Apple, Blackberry, and Plum. A little aciditic on the finish, but holding up extremely well for a '99. Great purchase for a great cause and great dinner with our friends and amazing goddaughter!!! That's what matters!!

  No formal notes but pop and pour from a magnum. This was very enjoyable with lots depth and life left in this format.
