You really can't ask for more when it comes to a 15-year-old Napa Cabernet. With exception to the most well-made wines, you expect tertiary characteristics or a wine that has started to experience fruit fade. This wine who is right at the top. At 30-minute decant in the bottle after pulling the cork was all that it needed. Oak, blackberry, spice on the nose and front palate. Full-bodied, perfectly aged Oakville Cabernet ready to show you what it has. This wine has integrated nicely, and the tannin are starting to really soften on the back of this wine. This enables it to finish rather long. Blackberry, rhubarb, mowing spices, black pepper, rosemary, grilled meat, hint of black olive. It is all here in some way or shape somewhere in this awesome experience that is a perfectly aged Paradigm Cabernet.

Second Sunday Group: 2009 Bordeaux (R&D's): Courtesy of Ruth. Nice chocolately black fruit notes with a floral undertone. Has some tannin to integrate, shows on the younger side. Currant, plum and chocolate. Balanced. Could use a few yaers yet.

Aromas of blackcurrant, fig, earth, prune, smoke, and a little chocolate. Tart cherry, blackcurrant, plum, a little dried cherry, and earth on the palate. Nice acidity, mostly integrated, grippy tannins, delicious med-long finish. This was really good, perhaps a little overripe, but also balanced and delicious.
