Dry, dusty tannins, powdered cocoa. Big fruit and balance. Was impressed with this the first time I tried it, and this bottle hit the spot, too! Drank side by side with 2015 Quilceda Creek & 2015 Va Piano, and I narrowly prefered the QC, but this is a great wine.

Drank side by side with a 2015 Quilceda cab; the Old Vines have more cocoa powder, blackberry fruit, dusty tannins.

Ripe and powerful with chocolatety spice and earth. Beautiful dark ruby color with black and blueberry on the nose.

A truely tremendous wine. Powerful and massive. So dark that light does not pass through. Amazing now but will hold for at least a decade

Still in its youth. Opens after 4-5 hours, with cassis and minerality framed by firm tannins. The finish is impossibly long.
