White Burgundy theme at Min Jiang: My contribution. Paired this with the Pillot to compare if plot or producer would prevail. Niellon has a bad rep for overdoing it on the oak but think they’ve dialled back in recent vintages. Liked how this straddled new and old-school well. A balanced, quintessential white Burgundy that is ready to go.

The nose is sexy with hazelnut, almond, vanilla toast, and gunflint. Palate is rich and creamy with moderate acidity for the vintage. Good tension for its level. Drinking very well. 91-92

First-btl served (blinded). Definitely a nice one to start off the evening, with honeysuckle, apples/peaches notes rising from the glass. This got better thr' the evening too, with minerality/salinity coming to the fore. Beautiful & delicious! Definitely need to re-look at Niellon wines (esp. the whites) as they still present a good value even in today's context...

Medium golden in the glass. Served warm, but still quite tight at the start. As it gets cold, it opens up, but not a lot. There's a very strong oatmeal aroma and taste to this that just can't bring me over to drinking more than a few glasses of it. Acidity is there, but is coated with this rich taste, making it appear tired and dare I say flabby. Moderate finish. Not much to it.
