  Vertical of 2016 and 2018
  Deep dark ruby
  Pronounced nose blackcurrant, black plumb, leather, smoky notes, some graphite
  2018 more pronounced, riper
  Med + acidity,
  2018 high acidity
  high alcohol, high tannins,
  2018 tannins more velvety
  full bodied, pronounced intensity, lovely long finish
  Outstanding wine, will continue to improve for 10 years, 2018 more integrated already, lovely smooth balanced wine

  A hot, dry, low-yielding vintage that was picked early, and that’s what it tastes like. Concentrated, black-fruited, compact, tart and green on the finish. Proof that Lady May can be tedious without the ripeness to fill out the framework. Maybe give it 2-3 more years to see what happens.
