  • 2 hour decant

    Phenomenal wine.

Doesn’t need a lot of coaxing or massaging. Tasted very good at the 1 hour decant mark… tasted even better at 2 hours.

As good or better than some of the best ‘16 Brunellos I have tried.

Beautiful fruit ball, moderate acidity, moderate tannins.

Flavor does a gymnastic floor exercise as you swirl, sip, wash over your tongue, and then swallow. So much going on here. The finish is sublime.

    Sangiovese flexing hard. Love it.

  • This is a stellar example of young Chianti at its best. It pours a deep, inviting ruby, with an aroma rich in black cherries and damsons, accented by a touch of oak and earthiness. Not completely typical of Chianti Classico. However a superbly balanced rascal.

The palate is a journey through Tuscany's heart, where ripe brambles, cherries and blackberries meet hints of tobacco and a smoky whisper, giving a fine nod to the time it spent in oak barrels. This vintage currently displays a vibrant, albeit overpowering young fruitiness. The tannins, though prominent only if you really look for them, are well-crafted. Elegance and complexity are woven throughout, with a finish that lingers gracefully.

This wine promises a beautiful evolution over the next 15 years or more. While enjoyable now for its fruity and youthful character, patience will unveil its full potential, transforming it from a delightful drink to a profound experience.

  • Under pristine cork. Decanted. Medium dark ruby red starting on its journey to garnetville. Quite ripe and meaty on the nose. Lots of black and red dried fruits, mostly black cherry, stone dust, old leather, camphor, and an underlying earthy / meaty note. Smells very good in fact! Clearly starting to show some age! Very smooth, satiny tannins, great balance, medium-full bodied. Sweet and riper / younger black fruits on the palate than the nose would suggest. Much fruitier in fact! Also notes of charred oak, leather, chalky minerals, and light mulch. The front end is all fruit but the back end is all structure and minerals. Quite complex. Finishes long and very dry with mix of fruit and mineral replays. A fairly serious and structured wine but very nice and a solid 92 points.
