Deep garnet/ruby color. This is showing a lot of primary oak at the moment and this will need a few years to integrate. Notes of vanilla, sweet spices, aftger a few hours the bottle is also showing some notes of dark plum, cedar, leather, also some spices and herbal notes. It‘s pretty full bodied, with very good freshness of high acidity, medium-high tannin that seems excellent quality. Good length and just overall, it seems like this will be very nice once the oak integrates more. For now, I‘ll give it the benefit of the doubt (92-94)

Medium garnet color. Robust nose of dried blackberry, coffee with spicy/black pepper afternote. Dry, full acidity, tannic wall, palate follows through with a disappointingly downward finish. Medium full body. Good balance (acid and tannic rush). Medium long finish.

Aerated to decanter for 2 hours; was still too bound up by oak for my preferences. Good aromatics underneath the oak. Palate is fresh, and broad, though little energy musters past the escape velocity of the oak. Should be ok, but I feel it's got a little ahead on the price; under $45 is fair. I know they're striving for quality - I heard the owner disclaiming as much to his entire team the last time I was there. HOLD. 2023-2032. recommended

Monthly Tuesday group "The Dead Sparrow": Vino Nobili di Montepulciano (@ The factory by JdB): Perfumed bouquet with herbs and sweet spices, dark berries and beautiful oaky flavors, On the palate juicy dark berries, sweet spices, herbs, chocolate, beautiful and mild acidity and round tannin. Firm and harmonious, beautiful wine.
