Pale; initially slight & lacking this fills out & held up well next day. Red summer fruits, lithe, medium bodied; has snap & bite to long finish. Merits more time.

Vosne 1er crus (Taste Paradise, Ion Orchard): Traditional in a good way - a little earthiness but with clean and pure red fruit. Not as dense as I expected from this producer. Really like 2017s for their approachability and elegance, don't think it will hit the heights of the better bottles in the line-up but it is offering a lot of pleasure today.

Complex, highly perfumed nose of pomegranate, black cherry, raspberry, aniseed and black tea. Wonderful depth and breadth. Really fans out on the super-long finish.
