  • Mid to full straw. Slightly creamy, some hint of Sauvignon but quite subdued. Quite minerally but with a slightly curious smokey edge. Quite ripe though the style does restrain it, but nonetheless it lacks focus and precision. Ok at best and not quite as good as the previous (equally ok, but...) bottle. **1/2

  • Grosse deception, aucune expression au nez et une bouche tres droite sans grande complexité. Moment d'évolution fermé ou bien defaut ? l'avenir le diras

  • 13.5% alcohol by volume. Perhaps should have opened a couple years sooner. Medium-gold color with transparency. Doesn't seem to be distorted by the extremely warm vintage in Europe. Plenty of mineral texture. Some quince and citrus. Tingly sensation on the finish. Oak storage? I had to remind myself that I was drinking Sauvignon Blanc, not Chardonnay. Second day brought a hint of sherry (oxidation?) but was still quite an enjoyable wine. Quite rich tasting without being flabby.

  • Pale straw. Quite a mineral and lactic nose. A hint of SB on the attack albeit quite restrained and creamy, then mineral. Reasonably tight given the vintage, mineral and quite long. Just a hint of the atypicality on an ever-so-slightly unbalanced finish that leaves a sense of the alcohol not quite covered by the othe relements - this is quite knit-picky though. A good effort for the vintage but not quite up to the standard of the 01 Montes Damnes. ***

  • Gorgeous warm fruit with a touch of citrus. An even experience that finishes with a slight pucker. A wonderful aparatif with Tony and Eric under the pergola.
