Once again I'm committing a pseudo-crime by sipping on a too-young bordeaux, and yet I'm happy I did. I really like this. Since my last tasting I have followed through on my previous notes and added more vintages of Chateau Dalem to the cellar. This is slightly less bright and youthful than it was in 2022. As I revisit the wine, I'm reminded why I felt compelled to add more. Fresh and juicy dark red and blue notes waft from the glass, with perhaps a little coppery wet earth and a floral note. The fragrance of this wine is enough, even without sipping. Yet sip we must. Decant an hour or so to give the wine a chance to find itself. Dalem should be under $30 just about everywhere, and a fine price to pay to have a few in the cellar.

I opened up and let it breathe for about an hour. Taste of cherry and some blueberry. Tannins firm but pleasant. Full-bodied and paired very well with a nice steak. Very good wine, will continue to improve with age.

En Primeur campaign for the 2022 vintage Day One (Bordeaux): Fresh black over red plum is joined, with time, by a little blackcurrant and slight earthy notes. Juicy, medium plus intensity acidity, tight slightly woody tannins are talc textured with the fruits joined by a touch of chocolate as well as a little cherry; quite fruit forward though. Alcohol warmth on the long finish intrudes slightly otherwise this is nice enough.

Blueberry and cedar flavours, full-bodied, tannins slightly rough in the finish . Still very young , will improve further, good qpr, 91+.

Nose of Cola, floral notes and bright fruit.
Palate of strawberries up front with powdery tannins and rounding acidity. Sweet and velvety finish.
Pleasant but it does little to stand out on its own.
