  • Dark ruby color with deep, bassy aromatics evoking briar and sweet baking scents, quite enticing. This is sometimes an austerely structured bottling for Digoia-Royer, and there's no doubting the full effect of those old vines with thick-skinned small berries here, but there is a corresponding fruit intensity with vibrant red- and violet-toned berry flavors featuring both a saucy intensity and youthful juiciness. Indeed it's remarkably fresh-tasting for the vintage, or for any vintage ~5 years on from bottling really. It just needs to melt a little bit more of those edgy tannins but even with them it is still in a pretty happy state.

  • Tasted over 2 hrs
    -med dark red
    -expressive cassis warm earth
-med acidity provides excellent tension, med/med- weight lively cassis earth, med/med+ tannins
-only the 2nd time tasting this producer and lieu-dit, rather dark fruit profile for the vintage and for Chambolle seems to be a reproducible characteristic, but lively and full of tension that should unfurl in a few years, I rather like this

  • This is so tasty. Delicate florals and ripe red fruit. Nice tartness and spice on the palate. Some slight meatiness on the initial sips that later dissipated or May be due to the steak accompanying it. An unobtrusive wine that can go with a variety of foods

  • rich red and dark berry flavors excite the palate and have a sappy persistency. The wine finishes clean, long, with a bit of tart, and some tannins as well. Excellent balance here and I think its only going to improve with bottle age.
