I was afraid that this wine might have faded but was happy to find that it was still full of fresh ripe fruit with leather, meat and smokey notes. Thoroughly enjoyable, especially considering the moderate price. I feel like it could easily rest for another 3-5 years but I won’t hesitate to open the remaining bottle from my cellar when I want a hearty Aussie Shiraz.

Aromas of ripe and grilled blackberries, some blackcurrants, barbecue smoke, olives, and campfire.
Medium-full body. Flavors of jammy and grilled blackberries, along with some ripe blueberries and blackcurrants. A hint of smoky olive, but the aromas didn't carry through in flavor as much as I had thought. Chalky, fine tannins and a moderate finish. A campfire aftertaste.
Paired with a charcuterie board, including smoked gouda, grana padano, gaeta olives, and some bresaola. The wine was very boozy-at 15% alcohol, it was a bit spicy as well. Perhaps pairing with other savory smoky flavors brought out the fruit flavors more and muted some of the savory elements, but the wine was decently balanced in my opinion.
89 points.

Powerful but silky, starting to show some savoury leathery development. In a nice place now

Blackfruits, lavender and dark aromatics. Nice quaffer, decent value, what you expect from a young entry level Barossa Shiraz.

Decanted for 1.5 hours.
Dark ruby in the glass, rim had a reddish tint.
