  Purchased in Valchiavenna in 2001. 14.5% ABV
  
  Color: reddish brown
  Nose: light intensity. Somewhat tired aromas; nothing distinctive
  Body/flavor: medium body; warm dried red fruits and berries. Still balanced
  Aftertaste: short
  
  Compared to my first bottle in 2014, this nearly 25 YO Nebbiolo showed its age. And yet, was still drinkable with slow-roasted pork shoulder

  A gift from Negri at the winery in Sondrio IT
  
  Decanted and then re-bottled before dinner. Initially, wine was very closed, but decanting made a difference and truly opened in the glass.
  
  Color: medium dark brick red with thin brown line
  
  Aroma: very complex; dried fruit and berries; dust and leather; constantly changed over several hours.
  
  Body and flavor: medium-full body, very nice mouth feel. Very complex flavors of dried fruits and spices (nutmeg and black pepper); leather. It opened further in the glass.
  
  Aftertaste: lingering finish for dried fruit
  
  Paired with braised, lightly smoked pork shoulder and roasted potatoes!
