  Surprised to find that this bottle (although 17 years old) still needed a bit of time to open up. Tannic and a little acidic after half an hour, it had developed quite some complexity after an hour in the glass. Plenty of backbone, an enticing bouquet, but quite clear around the rim - suggesting that it may be on the decline. Certainly does not disappoint on the palate, however, and offers different insights on each taste. Very enjoyable. 2015 is probably about right in regard to its predicted drink date.

  Modest tobacco bouquet. The color has browned a little bit, showing its age (10 years). Earthy, tannic finnish. Nothing that makes this extraordinary.
