Amarone tasting (at my home): Appearance The wine is a deep, dark red color with purple hues. It is clear and bright, with no sediment. Nose The nose is complex and inviting. There are notes of ripe cherries, plums, dried fruit, spices, chocolate, and tobacco. The nose is intense and expressive, with a good balance of fruit, spice, and earth. Palate The palate is full-bodied and velvety. There are flavors of ripe fruit, chocolate, spices, and tobacco. The wine is well-balanced and flavorful, with a long, lingering finish. Drinking window The wine is ready to drink now, but it will continue to improve with age for up to 20 years.

Pronounced nose intensity with notes of black fruits, cassis, spices. Medium high acidity and high tannin. Tannin is integrated. Decanting 3-4 hours will help to soften the tannin and make it rounder. Fasted it blind and thought it was a Brunet. Did not find the typical dried red fruits of a typical Amarone.

Drinking great now. Seems at peak, but no rush. A very good example of Amarone.
