Decanted 2 hrs. Very deep ruby black core, narrow tainted rim, very slow moving narrow legs at 15% abv. Clear, medium developed nose of dried cherries, cocoa, smokiness of oak, tar, complex heady earthy nose. Dry, medium acidity, medium(-) soft ripe tannins, high alcohol and medium(+) body. Medium(+0 flavours of sweet ripe black cherries, dark chocolate notes, coffee tones, red currants, sweet pepper, mineral, complex satisfying palate. Great length, flavours strip away layer after layer, rich finish with staying power, always balanced. Having ample supply of this powerful and elegant BIG wine is almost enough reason to move to Italy whatever the crisis.

A very big full bodied and fruit forward wine. Aromas of cherry preserves on the nose with velvety mouth feel and long lingering finish. Lots of sweetness in the beginning that balances out at the end. Too fruity for my liking, but not bad overall

A bit stiff, dark and pruney. Not among my favorite Amarones. I had a previous vintage - the '03 (I think) which was far more lively and fun to drink.

Cesari Tasting (Esquin Wine, Seattle): Medium lift nose. Well balanced. Good acid structure. Opens up really well in glass.
