Interesting wine - the oldest reasonably good higher end amarone we've had by far. Cellared impeccably over the years so no doubt that helped. Still drinking actually pretty well and definitely enjoyable but clearly over the hill, I am guessing peaked probably ~ 8-10 years ago. Surprisingly soft, integrated, well balanced and a surprising amount of dark fruit left but no acid which made it feel tired and a bit flabby. Any holdings need to be drunk up now - on a slow gentle decline. A very interesting light purple to dark orange color with the most intense peripheral bricking I have ever seen.

Ruby red. Nose of rose water, anise and red fruit. Palette of a clearly mature wine drinking exceptionally well - medium bodied with raspberry, tarragon and orange laced chocolate. Subtle tannins and the perfect amount of acid. Excellent bottle.

Clear red color with an orange hue. Sweet prunes, perfumed viols and a bit of licorice on the refined and inviting nose. On the palate there a good body with concentration, tightly packed cherry fruit, and a very rustic texture. Spicy midpalate and finish with some dried fruit and traces of the alcohol. Drinking well now.

Over the top. To old. It was my last one. Luckily I drank the others earlier.

Basically the same as the last bottle. Elegant and refined. Excellent wine, but I may have slightly overrated the previous bottle. 8-18-8-9
