  • Tasted blind, this wine had a light gold center and clear rims. The high- intensity nose offered up almond paste, apricot, petroleum jelly, and minerals.

In the mouth, this wine had great richness with moderate acidity and length. It had lovely fruit but I wanted a bit more spine.

I seem to recall having bottles with more verve in the past. Did this need more air or was that just the way this bottle was?

  • PNP into white wine glass (“Leaf” day): medium copperish golden to the eyes.

Unmistakably clear of the aged examples of this producer.

Incredibly detailed mature apricot and peach notes. Signature black tea leaves notes. Really great as always.

    94-95 points.

  • Deep yellow. Petrol and spiced apple scents but clean and no botrytis influence. Lighter bodied, slate base. This is no sweeter than current release Spatlësen-amazing! Lovely in its secondary phase and not that much farther along than when I last tasted it 14 years ago. Hail JJ!!

  • Tasted blind, this wine had a light gold center and clear rims. The high- intensity nose offered up honey, almond paste, citris, dried apricot, minerals, and petroleum jelly.

In the mouth, this wine showed great richness, from its super ripe fruit, but also firm acidity and well integrated texture. While the fruit was borderline exotic, it maintained excellent nuance and complexity.

This wine was so rich, ripe, and extravagant that it could easily be enjoyed with great pleasure. It will also last for 10+ years but I have a hard time imagining it will get better. I would definitely recommend at least 5 hours in a decanter before drinking.

  • Now their back luck is rubbing off on me. Blargh. The TCA here was pretty mild and there was a lot of wine underneath but with time this went downhill. Sad. Note to self: DO NOT drink old Prum with them again until their bad luck streak breaks.
