  • The 1992 Chantal Rémy Latricières-Chambertin was a joy to open this past Friday evening. With a great ullage, the bottle itself seemed to be in perfect condition, making me thoroughly excited for what was to come. Allowing it to open up in the glass while lingering over some champagne, my first impressions of the nose was how much fruit was seemingly intact. Packed with strawberries and raspberries, the aromatic nose was followed by a captivating palette that grew to have lingering tertiary notes, red fruit, hints of spices and licorice all met with a long finish and good acidity. A really enjoyable Grand Cru.

  • Deep garnet with a hint of ruby at the core. Initially very mellow, sous bois and gentle maturity. Quite full with GC weight. After a couple of glasses, fine sediment starts to come In and take over. Probably needed a careful, decant immediately prior to drinking. Acidity brightens too. No fireworks but reassuring, satisfying and food friendly. ***

  • Red fruit (raspberry, strawberry), spice, floral, slight earth, good acidity. Pretty bright. Lingering finish. Really enjoyable.

Popped and poured. Needs a couple hours of air to show well

  • Quite open and broad, surprisingly thick textured, nicely mature with autumnal and unfortunately corked flavours.

  • Deep garnet, still some ruby at the core. Initially very mellow, sous bois and gentle maturity. Quite full with GC weight. Further down the bottle this gets a bit darker, more savoury and with some licorice as the fine sediment starts to come in. Acidity brightens too. No fireworks but reassuring, satisfying and food friendly. ***
