Easter Sunday lunch, served blind, brought this, opened an hour before serving, medium light red with bricking, pretty nose, floral, sweet cherries, I could smell this forever! long finish, in its drinking window but at least 10 years left, mature Burgs are a treat 92-94

Bright ruby cote, to mid garnet rim. Deeper, darker and plusher than last night’s 01. Still a correct spine with good posture, but a little more flesh. A good match with goose. Opens nicely over seven or eight hours. ****

A gorgeous nose of highly perfumed fruits, aniseed and ginger spice, smoked meats and musk. It is plump and fleshy, with the silkiest of textures. Flavours build through the palate and fan out on the finish. Length is excellent.

Quick note: popped cork and let sit in bottle for 1 hour before pouring. Consumed over 2 hours. Nose/flavors of red fruit, raspberry, a bit of spice, and sauvage. A very nice wine, but a bit darker and not quite as bright or fresh as the 1990.

Perfumed berry fruits. Showing a touch of menthol. It is relatively tight, compact and linear. Plenty of material here.
