Aromas waft from the glass of rich raspberry, blackcurrant and tobacco leaf/cigar box and cedar nose with touch of earth.
Palate strawberry, cherry, sweet tobacco leaf and cedar underpinned by a subtle but noticeable smokey earthiness. Feels matured but still very vibrant with plenty of fruit left. Deep, concentrated. Fresh and balanced withll a nice long finish.
Popped and poured. Drinking very well now. 94 or 95.

Vibrant ruby red. Powerful, aromatic and perfumed nose of ripe red fruits, with a touch of BBQ smoke and "fresh" autumn leaves and earthiness. On the palate this was beautifully "sweet" with lots of ripe red fruits (cherry, strawberry, currants) balanced by both a good level of acidity and also the aforementioned tertiary notes of smoke, earth. A certain "meatiness" (think rare beef) in a good way, along with some subtle exotic spices too.
A rather powerful wine yet felt also elegant. Very nice balanced with an expansive complexity finely displaying layers of both fruity and more mature tertiary notes. Extremely drinkable and right in its drinking prime currently. I'd enjoy drinking these over the next 5 or so years.
Popped and poured. Drinking well out of the glass and opened up slightly over an hour before beginning to close.

A tingle of alcohol, is the heat that disrupts an otherwise lovely wine

La Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin Dinner (The Otesaga Resort, Cooperstown, NY): Big, smoky, ethereal nose of ground beef, flowers, and spices. Stunning in the mouth. Expansive and complex. A wow wine, and surprisingly elegant for the vintage.
