Community Tasting Notes (2)

  • bottle, fill and cork all good, but this wine was tired. Not corked, just dull and lacking vigor. With air, not much happened over several hours - never achieved the brilliant garnet of some older brunelli that just need time to open up

  • This bottle probably had a little seepage. Bottle, fill and cork all looked good, but there was a tiny line of wine extending to the top of the cork, the remainder of the cork was soaked about half way up. Dense and a little dumb at first, this wine unwound over an hour and delivered a nice experience. Very Sangiovese with a lot of tangy acidity matching a tomato-based pasta sauce with meatballs well. A big wine that did not fade over the next hour and a half. It remained a little tight, but there is plenty of leather, earth, dry leaves etc.. Very good, traditional brunello.
