  • Nose of lemon, butter, chalk, toast, lime, steel cream. Superb balance on the palate. Medium bodied, medium + acid. Coats the palate and tongue with delicious fruit intensity.

  • Nose: white chocolate, white flowers, popcorn, guava, sesame, pear
Notes: This is a very silky and smooth wine with an excellent nose but unfortunately you can feel the heat and the sweetness in this wine behind the 14% ABV from a very hot year. I would describe this as having a bit of an excessive ripeness so in this aspect it's a bit out of balance. In many ways this is not as delicate and as balanced as the 2017 I tried a few days ago. Nevertheless, this is an incredible Domaine that is definitely worth cellaring. Grivault has a pretty good body giving you a wonderful nose and a variety of different flavors. I think this needs a few more years of cellaring to release the full potential.

  • Very much acidity driven, but so much sublime layering of notes. Superbe flint stone classic without h buttery Chardonnay just a pleasure in the vintage, absolutely gorgeous.
