Out of magnum. Initial notes… On the nose, floral, strawberry wet stones. On the palate, quite tannic, bitter, tart. Distinct minerality and some salinity. The fruit is mellow. Almost artificial like a jolly rancher.
Second day (open for two and a half hours on the first day then corked). Still very tart and tannic Not particularly well integrated. Hints of more complexity as it continues to open up, but my patience is wearing thin.
Lunch on third day (lobster roll)…well integrated now. Bitterness has moderated. Much more lovely…
Last bottle was 750ml and this took much longer to be enjoyable. Glad to see it get to a great place, but need to lay the remaining bottles down for a while…

Rose's on the Deck (For a Time): A Summer Party -2nd Edition (Matt and Brenda's, Minneapolis, MN): Medium cherry red color. Small glass. Tasted both the '17 and '19, no formal notes, just don't find myself gravitating to this wine. It really needs food, and we were pretty much done eating by the time we got to these. I need some more time with them, score reserved - but my gut thinking is 88-89pts? Appears I am an outlier here.

Less Celebrated France WIMPS #164 28th April 2023 (La Trompette, Chiswick): A game of two halves here, on pouring I don't really get much here, there is a pleasant strawberry / raspberry character in a minor key. Clearly serious and not at all sweet with but subdued. Not sure if exposure to air or it warming in the glass did the trick but half an hour later it's singing. There is redcurrant pastille quality, some lemon juice and a little sliced cherry tomato / sweetness / savouriness. Very good.
