Nose: black cherry, wet forest floor, graphite, bell pepper, paprika, tobacco
Palate: bell pepper, paprika, dried black cherry, dried herbs; lacks a bit of midpalate; finish of leather, dried herbs; dry; medium+ heavy suede-like tannin; medium acidity
Overall thoughts: Great complexity and flavor and great structure, but lacking a bit of midpalate. Great wine.

Just to add to the professional tasting notes, a very nice Carmenere indeed, that is still drinking nicely in November 2004, despite some of the short drinking windows that critics have given it.

Tannic and deep with fresh fruit notes. Plum and cherry. Should be decanted or poured off carefully due to residue in bottle.
